20 Rosemary Street #3

Penthouse Rhapsody:

Space, Light, and Location in Harmony

1128 sqft | 3 beds | 1 baths | 1 parking

List price: $650,000

Perched on the top floor and filled with natural light, this bright and airy penthouse condo checks all the boxes: central A/C, in-unit laundry, and your very own off-street parking space. But what makes it truly special is how it blends old-home charm with thoughtful updates, creating a space that feels both timeless and ready for modern living.

From the moment you step into the south-facing living room, you’re welcomed by sunshine pouring through graceful bow windows. Soaring ceilings, a classic mantel, and warm wood flooring set the tone—a perfect mix of character and comfort.

The kitchen is the heart of the home, and this one delivers. With oversized windows framing sweet neighborhood views, the space feels fresh and open. A curved peninsula invites you to sit with a cup of coffee or chat while prepping dinner. There’s plenty of room to cook and gather, thanks to generous cabinetry, granite counters, and stainless appliances—all tied together by a crisp white tile backsplash and slate-blue painted floors that add just the right touch of personality.

Flowing seamlessly into the dining room, this layout makes everyday meals and impromptu get-togethers a breeze. Three true bedrooms offer flexibility—think guest room, home office, or a dreamy primary bed—and the full bath is bright and clean with classic white tile. Thoughtful extras like the landing’s mudroom nook, updated windows, and basement storage keep life organized and easy.

When it’s time to unwind, step out onto your covered back deck and enjoy your own private treetop perch. With the Southwest Corridor bike path right outside your door, your connection to the city—and nature—is just minutes away.

A Little About Jamaica Plain

For starters, locals call it JP. Once a vacation getaway for Boston’s elite merchants in centuries past, Jamaica Plain’s rolling hills are now home to a diverse and exciting fabric of community activism, an array of tasty restaurants and other small businesses, and many wonderful green spaces in and around the area. Surrounded by Olmsted’s Emerald Necklace, JP is one of the greenest neighborhoods in Boston.

Boston Home Team Favorites*

Boston Home Team Nearby Favorites*

The Haven (in the Brewery Complex) - Fantastic dinner menu, deeply complex and delightful bar menu, a uber cool and diverse ambience with 4 uniquely different spaces inside and out. Best burger in JP hands down.

Ula Cafe & Bakery - Also in the Brewery Complex, Ula’s a tasty area staple with a breakfast sandwich that is the problem and the solution in every bite. So good.

Chilacates - The original spot for this now wildly successful local chain. Their torta sandwiches are otherworldly.

Evergreen Eatery & Cafe - Creative and tasty fusion in a family owned restaurant. Super for dining (inside and out) or just a stop for coffee on route to catch your train.

BMS Paper Supply (Grocery Market) - Once the best kept secret in JP, BMS was/is a warehouse style center offering all manner of food service related goods, including bulk items such as cheeses, legumes by the 5-10lb bags, frozen goods, pots and pans, to-go containers, etc. Now they’ve rounded out their service to include a deli counter, a whole produce section, and rows of dried goods at very reasonable prices. Still a bit of a secret, but not for anyone in the immediate neighborhood. Now you know. They don’t have a working webpage, so you’ll just have to check this one out IRL.

Video Underground Cafe (a.k.a. VU Cafe) - As they say, it’s Boston’s only cinema cafe. They have delicious coffee and should be on the radar of every nearby cinephile.

Brassica Kitchen - The best restaurant in JP? It’s up there. Their fried chicken is sinful.

Third Cliff Bakery - A reputable, mobile bakery now in its first brick and mortar location. People literally come for miles to line up for its fare, including a wildly creative croissant menu.

Midway Cafe - This place is legendary. One of Boston’s oldest and most consistently rocking music clubs, the Midway offers an array of musical bookings for all tastes, in an unpretentious space where all feel welcomed.

For Pizza we can’t pick just one: Same Old Place, Italian Pizza and Subs, Ideal. There are too many to list!

Events and Organizations to Explore:

Franklin Park Coalition, Spontaneous Celebrations and W.U.T.E, JPNDC, JP Local First

* Editor’s note: There are so many more tasty and cool spots in JP and if we listed them all, we’d be here all day. Once you buy this listing from the Boston Home Team, you’ll have all the time in the world to explore the neighborhood.
